Ginny will arrange to meet with the Bride to run through the requirements for the wedding,  a quotation will be prepared and sent to Bride, which can then be refined depending on taste and/or budget available.

Helping your Florist

Do book up early, we can manage a maximum of two weddings per day and the popular dates get booked up early. Try to book at least nine months in advance. You don't have to pick your flowers at this point, so don’t panic, there is plenty of time to finalise your order. Fresh flowers are prepared for the actual wedding day, however Silk flowers can be prepared in advance and stored for transportation if you are going to another part of the country to get married.

To help your florist to get an idea of the style of your wedding, take the following with you when you meet to make arrangements:

· Swatches of material from your dress and your Bridesmaids outfits.

· Photographs or sketches of the style of your dress and your wedding theme.

· Colours are important, make sure you have decided on the colours for the Bridesmaids Dresses before you finalise the colour scheme of your wedding flowers.

· Think about your budget, your florist can advise of the best way to use the fund you have available. Remember, it’s your budget, spend as much or as little as you can afford.

 

A typical wedding order will consists of the following:-

· Bride’s Bouquet (from £30 to £90).

· Bridesmaid’s Bouquets (from £15 to £50).

· Buttonholes for the men in the bridal party. (£2 to £7).

· Corsages for the mums (£5 to £10).

· Church flowers, including arrangements (£20), pews ends (£5), arch decorations (£60).

· Reception Flowers, including pedestal arrangements (£60), table decorations (£10 to £30) and a top table decoration (£30 to £50). A Selection of glassware is available for hire (£5 each).

Bride’s Bouquet

Bridesmaid Bouquets

The Bridesmaid Bouquet is normally a smaller version of the Bride’s theme. For younger Bridesmaids (age 10 years and under), alternatives are Pomander Balls, Hoops, Baskets, Decorated Teddies and Dolls.

For a minimalistic idea, a single flower can be decorated, e.g. a Calla Lily with Gold Braid and a Butterfly.

On the left is a Hand Tie consisting of Pink Aqua Roses with Diamante Centres, Loops of China Grass, Camellia Leaves and the handle bound with Pink Organza Ribbon. Cost about £20 less the Bride’s Bouquet.

Buttonholes for the Men, Corsages for the Mums

Buttonholes can be made of any flower and in any colour to blend in with the Wedding theme.

Cost from £4.00 t0 £7.00 each. A Simple Groom’s Buttonhole as shown is normally £4.00 each.

 

The Bride’s Bouquet can be a formal shower bouquet, a Hand tie bouquet, an informal over arm arrangement. Styles include contemporary, funky, tropical, beach and retro. You can add a wide variety of accessories, such as diamantes, coloured wire, beading, braids,  butterflies, ribbon and pearls.

This example is a Hand Tie Bouquet consisting of  Akito White Roses, loops of china grass and wisps of bear grass entwined with soft Gold Organza Ribbon.

Other popular themes are Calla Lilies, Star Gazer Lilies, a selection of different type of Orchids, Freesias, Gloriosa.

Foliages includes bear and flexi grass, a selection of tropical leaves.

Foliage can also be scented, e.g. Rosemary or Bay.

Cost from £50.00 to £100.00 depending on budget and choice of flowers.

Top Table Decoration, Pole Decorations and Guest Table for the Reception

Table decorations normally include a centrepiece fir the top table and small designs in the Bride’s theme for the Guest Tables.

Left is a Top Table Decoration with Kimsey Pink Germini and Café Champagne Germini. Soft pale Pink Tulips, Natural Ting Ting and Trailing Ivy. Finished with soft loops of Organza Ribbon. Cost from £45.00.

 

A Table Decoration consisting of a Glass Bowl (£3.00 to hire), Candle (normally supplied by Bride), filled with Water or Water Pearls and Floating Flowers to match theme. Cost from £10.00 each.

 

Marquee Pole Decorations, circular designs arranged around the centre poles to a height that suits the Marquee. Trailing foliages with a selection of Flowers from the Wedding Theme. Cost From £70.00 each.
